We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Manager – Oil & Gas (Americas) to grow Exail’s presence across the U.S. Gulf Coast. This role combines technical sales, business development, strategic account management, and market expansion within the offshore energy and maritime industries.
Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will help develop and execute Exail's commercial strategy across the Americas, with a primary focus on the Oil & Gas and offshore energy markets.
You will be accountable for achieving sales objectives, expanding existing strategic accounts, and aggressively developing new client relationships throughout the U.S. Gulf Coast.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role requiring someone who can combine strong commercial instincts with the technical credibility necessary to sell sophisticated robotics, navigation, positioning, and surface and subsea technologies.
Strong team spirit is essential. This position works closely with Exail’s U.S. teams and technical, operational, and commercial teams across France.
What Are You Going to Do?
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Meet or exceed sales, profitability, new customer acquisition, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Develop and execute a territory strategy for the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Proactively source and develop new opportunities within the offshore Oil & Gas and maritime markets.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical discovery through proposals, negotiations, closing, and ongoing account development.
- Work with customers to identify the right Exail solutions, including LBL, USBL, INS, AHRS, USV, robotics, navigation, and surface/subsea technologies.
- Identify new applications for Exail’s robotic and autonomous maritime technologies within offshore energy, survey, inspection, positioning, and related operations.
- Deliver technical and commercial presentations, prepare proposals, and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
- Develop strategic partnerships and agent relationships in U.S. Gulf Coast to support regional growth.
- Grow existing accounts through additional hardware, software upgrades, service agreements, and support contracts.
- Collaborate with Exail’s U.S. Sales and Support teams and engineering, project management, operations, and commercial teams in France.
- Monitor customer needs, competitors, market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments.
- Represent Exail at trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, networking events, and product demonstrations.
Profiel
- 5+ years of sales and business development experience in maritime, offshore energy, subsea, hydrographic, positioning, robotics, or a related technology sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant education and professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience selling or supporting technical solutions related to navigation, positioning, subsea imagery, robotics, or maritime autonomy.
- Strong knowledge of the offshore energy market and experience working with offshore operators, EPCs, subsea engineering firms, marine contractors, survey companies, drilling organizations, or similar customers.
- Existing relationships within the offshore Oil & Gas, marine technology, subsea, survey, or positioning industries are strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of technologies such as LBL, USBL, INS, AHRS, USVs, autonomous maritime platforms, subsea positioning, imagery, survey, or offshore navigation systems.
- Ability to confidently discuss sophisticated technical solutions with engineers, operations teams, project managers, and executive decision-makers.
- Full professional fluency in English. Spanish is a plus.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and business development skills.
- Self-directed, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and comfortable working in a nimble, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, pipeline management, forecasting, and modern office tools.
Travel Requirements
This is a relationship-driven sales position, and significant face-to-face interaction with customers and prospects is expected. You must be willing and able to:
- Travel extensively throughout the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Travel to Exail's U.S. headquarters in Denver, Colorado, at least four times per year.
- Travel occasionally to Exail's global operations in France.
- Maintain travel flexibility of up to 50% based on customer and business needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually Commission: Uncapped, performance-driven commission structure based on quota attainment Bonus Eligible: Yes
The compensation offered will depend on factors such as relevant experience, technical expertise, territory knowledge, demonstrated sales performance, and other job-related qualifications.
